Introductory courses

This course is addressed to children up to 12 year age for approaching them to diving. There is no certification but a diploma for all childrens.

This course is addressed to anybody who simply wants to observe sea life from the surface using snorkeling equipment. Course plan: 3 hours of theory and 3 hours of practice. Lessons are based on knowledge of equipment, correct swimming and simple notions of marine life.  

This course is a useful passage to basic courses aimed to improve aquatic skills. Course plan: 3 hours of theory, 3 hours of confined water sessions and 2 open water sessions with complete apnoea equipment. Lessons are about knowledge and use of equipment, correct swim, ear clearing, sinking technique, underwater swim.
This consists in a minimal scuba course and a first dive experience. Course plan: 1 theory lesson, 1 delimited water lesson, 1 open water dive at 10 metres maximum depth, supervised by an instructor or assistant instructor with 1 to 1 ratio.

Basic courses 

This course enables to dive up to 12 metres under the direct supervision of a certified assistant (maximun 1 to 4 ratio). Course plan: 2 theory lessons, 2 confined water lessons and 2 open water lessons from 5 to 12 metres. After certification the student can complete the IDEA open water diver course within 2 years. After 2 years a complete open water diver course is required.

This course enables to dive up to 18 metres with a buddy of same certification at least. The diving conditions must be the same as for training. In different surroundings he must be accompanied by an instructor or divemaster as long as he gets experience.
Minimum age 15 years old; 12 years old for Junior Diver certification, that must be converted into Open Water Diver certification at 15 year age after an open water exam.  Course plan: minimum 6 theory lessons and 6 confined water lessons, after a minimum of 4 open water dives between 5 and 18 metres are required.

Advanced corses and Star System courses

This course is based on theory and practise. The practise consists in a series of open water dives introducing the most important specialties and certifying to dive with a buddy of same level or superior in situations similar to those of the course. The certified diver is enabled to make dives up to 30 mts.
Course plan: basic course theory refresh, theory of the different dives planned in the course, 6 training open water dives: search and recovery, night dive or poor visibility dive, natural navigation and compass navigation, rescue diver, deep dives (2 dives) one up to 25 mts and one up to 30 mts. 
Prerequisite: Open Water Diver

After 2 twenty five metre dives experience with and IDEA instructor, it is possible for an Open Water Diver to get this certification, that extends the range of granted dives, with a buddy of same or higher certification, up to 25 metres. 
Prerequisite: Open Water Diver 

This certification is given to an IDEA Advanced Diver or equivalent, who has made two more certified dives beyond the course, the first up to 35 mts and the second up to 40 mts. The certified diver is enabled to make dives up to 35 mts, with a buddy with a similar certification or superior and up to 40 mts supervised by a divemaster or instructor.
Prerquisite: Advanced Open Water Diver

Specialties courses

IDEA specialty courses are designed for practical purposes with the same conditions as experimented in the courses, always together with a buddy of same certification. Not-diver certifications enable to effect activities as designed in the courses only.

Specialties for not diver also: Dive Medic & Oxigen Provider (first aid, cpr and oxygen use in diving accidents), Dive safety assistant (not diver surface assistant), Equipment specialist (scuba equipment maintenance).
Basic specialties: Boat diving, Marine biology, Digital photosub, U/W video specialist.
Advanced specialties: Advanced Search and Recovery, Current Water Diver, Deep Diver, Dry Suit Diver, Limited Visibility Diver, Night Diver, Nitrox Diver, Rescue Diver, Search & Recovery, Wreck Diver.
For specialties boat diving, current water diver, deep diver, dry suit, limited visibility diver, night diver e wreck diver, formative credits can be accepted. So a students with at least 5 certified dives in the logbook, after a positive examination by an IDEA instructor, the relevant certification can be released.
Deep Diving specialies
Advanced Deep Diver: allows to dive at 45 mts, within safety curve. Time and air consumption must be planned in advanced with a dive computer/PC.

Deco Rec: allows to dive up to 50 mts depth with and deco stops (in air). Time and air consumption must be planned in advanced with a dive computer/PC.
Decompression Diver: allows to dive up to 50 mts depth with  deco stops (in Nitrox). Time and air consumption must be planned in advanced with a dive computer/PC.
Specialties for not diver: no prerequisites
Basic specialties: Open Water Diver
Advanced specialties: Advanced Open Water Diver
Advanced Deep Diver and Deco-Rec: Deep Diver, Rescue Diver, Dive Medic
Decompression Diver: Deep Diver, Rescue Diver, Dive Medic, Deco Rec or equivalent

Professional courses

This course admits students with IDEA AOW 2 certification or similar certification given by other organizations with similar standards. This course uses both theoretical and practical training to increase knowledge and understanding of the underwater environment. Students are also taught various techniques to Prerequisites: OWD, Advanced OWD, Dive Medic, Rescue Diver, Deep Diver

The purpose of the Assistant Instructor program is to train professional career-minded individuals as well as those interested in recreational diver. There are many divers who would like to assist the professional diving instructor, but do not want to make diving instruction a career. The IDEA Assistant Instructor program has room for both the career-minded person and the amateur who wants to assist on weekends. 
Prerequisites: Divemaster, with a valid Dive Medic & Oxygen provider (or equivalent) training.
